Experience the magic of Northern New Mexico! Situated at the end of a quiet road not far from the center of town, The Mabel Dodge Luhan House is a historic adobe looks out across Taos pueblo property with a view of the sacred Taos mountain.
Join Diane and guest teacher, Carol Lee Shanks, for dynamic teaching sessions and one-on-one instruction in our adobe conference center studio. Deepen your design experience, and focus on aspects of your work in new ways. We'll be on 'Taos time' as they say, with plenty of opportunity for small, informal groups in the log cabin room and afternoons sitting with handwork in the stone courtyards.

Theme: The Shape of Things to Come
Guest Teacher: Carol Lee Shanks
About My Work
"The motion of cloth on a body is a delight to my eyes. Building generous, geometric garments that relate to one another as wearable silhouettes is my creative response to this observation. Using the body as an armature allows these compositions to read as ethereal, moving sculptural shapes. I hope that others find them captivatingly beautiful as well".
Exploring a New Direction-
"Thinking of my clothing as moving sculpture has sparked new ideas for ways to create shapes informed by garment making. Using methods of construction that are familiar: stitching, layering, shaping, wrapping, etc. I imagine exploring from a place that is rooted in my current practice but hope to break things open with an inquisitive, expansive mind". Carol Lee Shanks
"I'm always inspired with fresh vision on returning to New Mexico for yearly retreats...
Color and form find their way into my imagery and textile work.....while the high desert air and views are a reminder to breath in, settle in and celebrate the magic and new work that takes form in the studio there". Diane
