I am excited to be sharing the studio in Taos this June with Canadian textile artist, Bettina Matzuhn. Inspired by hiking, biking and sailing- Bettina is navigating her life full circle back to a needle and thread, beautiful, rich embroideries and exploring the metaphors of her journey through her love of textiles.
‘The idea of navigational aids is familiar to me –I spent many days of my childhood on sailboats keeping an eye out for lighthouses, reef markers, bell buoys, and the running lights on other ships. Marine charts and tide tables were in constant reference. I am returning to this vocabulary to describe a particular uncertainty’. Bettina Matzuhn
